Most Wanted Boko Haram Leader Dies After Being ‘Fatally Injured’

The Nigerian military has achieved a monumental success in the fight against insurgency in North East Zone as a wanted member of the Islamic terrorist sect, Boko Haram who was arrested by troops of 7 Multinational Joint Task Force Brigade Quick Response Group (QRG) stationed in Baga was reported dead following the fatal injury he sustained during exchange of gun fire.

Confirming the incident, the acting director of army public relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, said that the unnamed terrorist – serial number 95 on the first list of 100 wanted Boko Haram leaders – who was arrested when the 118 Task Force Battalion sprang an ambush along Daban Masara axis used by Boko Haram terrorists elements to convey logistics died on Thursday.

Several others escaped with gunshot wounds while the leader later died of his wounds while receiving treatment at the military base.
In a related development, documents, containing 22,000 names, addresses, telephone numbers and family contacts of members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), have been leaked to the media by a disgruntled former Free Syrian Army fighter.

Obtained by Sky News, the documents have details of nationals from at least 51 countries, who had to give up their most personal information as they joined the terror organisation.
The documents showed that only when the 23-question form was filled in were they inducted into ISIS, to which Nigeria’s Boko Haram owes its allegiance.

It is not immediately clear how many Nigerians are on the lists and their identities. But its on record that the Nigerian security agencies have intercepted some Jihad sympathisers attempting to travel out of the country to join ISIS.
